It’s a bit silly to apologize for being an adult, for making a decision for oneself as opposed to subjecting oneself to removable unhappiness. I refuse to suffer slurs and biased accounts of myself as a result. I understand pain, suffering et al. as much as the next person; I also understand that after a significant amount of time, it is fairly immature to believe that time can stop and start at one’s will, that it is base and vile for others to continue with their lives. It is immature, and silly; time does not stop, and humans are not allowed to either. To stop is to die. Children do not understand these things, of course; children believe that it is always now, and that we are not in a state of flux. Children believe in a binary universe. Children believe that anything and anyone who is not with them is against them. So from a child’s perspective, it is very simple to identify someone as a monster, as a base aggressor; however, adults do not have this luxury, and must face and cope with the complexities of a multi-variable world.

It is a strange affliction to condemn one for crumbling under forces beyond their control, and it is a strange affliction to at one time misinterpret a motive and then interpret every successive reality based on the former. Many call it logical fallacy and call its advocates fools, but I find that it is gentler to call them children. Children can grow, and children can learn.

This is 100% not my business at all, but please, don’t call my friends children. Especially when you are refusing to suffer slurs. You’re a bigger man than that, right?

Carry on, cheerio.
